What We Believe

1. We believe the Bible as originally given, to be inspired, the only infallible authoritative written revelation of God.
2. We believe in the one living and true God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the same in essence and equal in attributes.
3. We believe in the deity of Christ, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection from the dead, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return in power and glory.
4. We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but fallen from original righteousness through temptation into sin. People are sinners by nature and by choice, and are therefore, in need of reconciliation to God.
5. We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation and that people are justified only by God’s grace through faith in the shed blood of Christ.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers as the universal church of Christ, and its visible expression in the local church.

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and having been baptized on the profession of my faith in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, I do now in the presence of God and this assembly of believers, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ. I support the Calvary Baptist Church Statement of Beliefs and its Purpose:

Seeking to grow in our love for Christ, His Church and our community.

In obedience to, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, I purpose to work together with this church:

• To grow as followers of Christ in knowledge and action;
• To connect with one another in Christian love;
• To reach out with the Gospel to everyone in word and deed;
• And to do all this as an act of worship, so that in everything Christ might be seen as the supreme treasure of our lives and God be glorified.  

I will honour its leaders, praying regularly for them and this fellowship. I will use my time, talents, and goods for the service of God, this church, and my community. If I should leave this community, I will purpose to unite with another church, where I can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
